Dickens crafted A Tale of Two Cities following a different pattern than patterns that characterize other novels. The analysis that can be downloaded from this web page, describes many, but not all, of the differences. These differences are often subtle, not obvious. It has taken me years and many readings of the novel to pick them out. I expect further reads will reveal more features that don't fit the usual patterns found in other novels. It's been fun.
