Ravens, Crows, Magpies, and Jays

Herons

Birds belonging to the family Corvidae include ravens, crows, magpies, and jays. Altogether, the family includes 135 different species. Crows and ravens are considered the smartest of birds with other members of the family close behind in smarts. The four kinds of birds listed above have long interacted with humans. The interactions have ranged from their being worshiped to their being ruthlessly hunted as vermin.

These photos were taken of birds living near the coast of British Columbia.
