Photographs of Haiida Gwaii, August 2022 |
---|
Haida Gwaii is a cluster of islands shaped like a slice of pizza pointing south. The cluster sits on the edge of the continental shel belonging to the North American plate. Just off the west shores of the islands, the continental slope plunges into the abyssal depths of the Pacific Ocean. The east coast of the islands borders the Hecate Strait which separates the cluster from the mainland of British Columbia, 55 to 125 kilometres away. Haida Gwaii is a neat place to go, few people, great scenery, and a large eagle population.
